COLOMBIA, FINCA CAFELINA {FILTER}

from 8.80

This washed coffee comes to us from the slopes of Bombona, Nariño, West Colombia via Café Imports. Finca Cafelina is a ten-hectare farm owned by Edgar Ernesto Erazo Valencia. Valencia inherited this farm from his father. He and his siblings have worked here their entire lives. Expect dried fruits, stone fruit and grape balanced with toffee and light cacao. The cherry is depulped the day it is picked. Finca Cafelina uses a combination of parabolic dryers - which look like tomato greenhouses - and mechanical dryers depending on the size of the harvest. This coffee is traded outside of the Federación Nacional de Cafetoros de Colombia (FNC). The FNC is an NGO which supports the country’s coffee producers, both large and small. The FNC will guarantee sale of any coffee grown in Colombia (based on the global commodity market ‘C-price’), which provides a safety net for farmers. High quality microlots with good traceability attract much higher prices than FNC-guaranteed sales.
