A lovely collection of Assembly sourced teas. The perfect gift for a tea lover.

Houjicha - 40 gram canister - Certified organically grown and processed, this houjicha is harvested in the autumn months. This particular tea is grown in the Kyoto and Kagoshima prefectures. It’s crafted from parts of the tea plant (called bancha) that are leftover from making sencha. After it’s hand picked, it’s then roasted over charcoal, giving it a really unique, smoky green tea flavour. The roasted tea leaves taste very different from other Japanese steamed green teas, like sencha. Most of the caffeine is removed in this roasting process which makes it a great relaxing drink.

Jasmine Pearls - 60 gram canister - Our Jasmine Pearls are made with spring-flush green tea from Yunnan Province, China, grown in a biodynamic tea garden in the mountains surrounding Pu’er. Cultivated at elevations of 1200–2000 MASL, the high-altitude, humid climate supports slow, even leaf development, resulting in a tea with clarity and finesse. The tea is hand-picked as one bud and two leaves, then carefully rolled into pearls to protect the leaf and preserve aromatics. Once shaped, the tea is set aside until jasmine flowering season. Freshly picked jasmine blossoms are layered over the tea for 5 days and nights. As the flowers open, their fragrance is absorbed by the pearls, naturally scenting the tea without the use of oils or additives. The result is a softly floral, balanced cup with depth, freshness and a lingering jasmine aroma.

Dong Ding - 50 gram canister - This oolong originated as tea that was exclusively grown in the Dong Ding mountains in central Taiwan. Now, the name has evolved and relates to the process and style, rather than the location. This tea is a handpicked in the Spring harvest of this year and is organically grown. This tea garden is in the luscious Nantou county, a region with a delicate ecosystem. The leaves are picked, wilted, lightly oxidised, rolled and baked. A cultivation of traditional production methods and environmentally sustainable practice.
